CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur lands in trouble

In Islamabad, a Session Court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants forKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur in connection witha case involving the recovery of arms and liquor.

During the hearing, the court dismissed Gandapur’s request for an exemptionfrom appearing on medical grounds. The case was presided over by JudgeShaista Khan Kundi, who ordered the SHO of Bhara Kahu police station toarrest Gandapur and present him in court the following day.

Previously, the court had summoned KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur in relation tothe arms and liquor recovery case. The District and Sessions Judge alsorequested answers to nine specific questions from Gandapur and instructedhim to appear in person before the court.

It is noteworthy that on October 30, 2016, the police claimed to haverecovered weapons and liquor from Ali Amin Gandapur’s car. According to thepolice, his car was stopped and searched at a checkpoint on RukhsanaBangash Road while he was en route to Imran Khan’s residence in Bani Gala.The search reportedly led to the discovery of weapons and ammunition in thevehicle.

The seized weapons, which included four Kalashnikov rifles, ammunition, atear gas gun, and bulletproof vests, were displayed at the Bara Kahu policestation in Islamabad.
