KABUL – US top envoy on Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad hints at conditionalwithdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.
The U.S. envoy for Afghan peace Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad has saidwithdrawal from Afghanistan will be condition-based.
Ambassador Khalilzad said in a Twitter post that the presence of the UnitedStates in Afghanistan is condition-based.
Furthermore, Ambassador Khalilzad said the United States is pursuing apeace agreement not a withdrawal agreement.
He also added that he has arrived in Doha and that U.S. is ready for a goodagreement with Taliban.

According to Khalilzad, the Taliban are signaling they would like toconclude an agreement.
This comes as certain American media outlets had earlier reported that theUnited States is prepared to withdraw thousands of U.S. forces fromAfghanistan if a peace deal is concluded with Taliban.
