*LAHORE – An accountability court in Lahore on Saturday extended thephysical remand of former premier Nawaz Sharif’s principal secretary FawadHasan Fawad for another 14 days at the request of the NationalAccountability Bureau (NAB). *
The Bureau produced the senior bureaucrat before the court after expiry ofhis 14-day remand and requested it to extend his physical remand for 14more days as his custody was required for further investigation into graftcharges against him.
He was arrested by the anti-graft body on July 5 on different corruptioncharges, including the ones levelled against him in the Ashiana-e-IqbalHousing Scheme case.
Three corruption cases registered against Fawad include Ashiana HousingScheme, illegal employment in a private bank and unlawful transfer of nineCNG stations.
Fawad has served as the principal secretary of two former prime ministers,Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi during the previous PML-N government.
