*ISLAMABAD – PPP leader Faryal Talpur has requested that the head of theFIA’s JIT, Najaf Mirza, be replaced. The JIT is investigating a moneylaundering case.*
Former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Talpur have also asked formore time before having to appear before the FIA in the money launderingcase.
Their lawyer, Farooq H Naek, said on Saturday that they were unable toappear before the agency because they had been collecting the details oftheir campaign expenditure in this election, as required by the ECP. Todayis the last day to submit the details.
They are wanted for questioning in a case involving around Rs34 billionfunneled through fake bank accounts at three local banks.
