LAHORE – A huge sinkhole that emerged after heavy rainfall near GeneralPost Office (GPO) on Mall Road exposed the tall claims of developmentalwork in Lahore.
The authorities called heavy machinery which tried to fill the sinkhole onsecond day and assured that the road will soon be back to its normalsituation.

As per details garnered, no survey of Orange Line Train’s underground trackwas conducted while poor quality material was used for the contruction ofthe road.
The road was opened for heavy traffic after constructing the road withoutclosing the pipes and securing the pillars of Orange Train. Taking hastyaction, the pipes were left open at the time of road excavation and werenot linked with other lines to clear the road for traffic.
An inquiry team is currently working over the incident and will present thereport soon to the authorities.
