RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, onThursday visited National Locust Control Center (NLCC) Rawalpindi, saidmilitary’s media wing.
According to ISPR, he was briefed by Engineer in Chief (E-In-C) LieutenantGeneral Moazzam Ejaz, Chief Coordinator NLCC, about the efforts beingundertaken to counter locust threat.
COAS appreciated NLCC role in synergizing national efforts in line with theNational Action Plan.
He reiterated that Army will make all possible resources available to helpcivil administration in combating locust threat.
He further stressed that effective control operations are essential forensuring food security in the country and in mitigating the negativeeconomic impact.
The federal government has already declared national emergency in thisregard.
