ISLAMABAD – A three member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) headed byJustice Ejaz Afzal Khan has ruled that Bahria Town Karachi cannot sellplots in Karachi.
The Supreme Court labelled the allotment of land to Bahria Town illegal,and has prevented the developer from selling commercial or residential landin Karachi.
The court has also ordered an investigation into the illegal allotment ofMalir Development Authority’s land.
The court has also ordered that an investigation be launched within thenext three months against the people involved in the illegal transactions.
The verdict also states that a special bench be formed to supervise theinvestigation.
The judges also added that transactions between the Sindh government andBahria town could be made legal, but the stipulations on these transactionswill be established by the SC’s special bench.
