Islamabad Hig Court rules in favour of Imran Khan against ECP

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court has ruled in favour of Imran Khan against the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday stayed Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from taking action against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan over violation of electoral code of conduct.

It should be mentioned here that Khan challenged the ECP’s code of conduct in the court. Justice Amir Farooq heard the petition filed by the PTI chief regarding the election commission’s code of conduct.

Delivering stay order, the court suspended three notifications issued by the election commission.

Appearing before the court, Imran Khan’s counsel Babar Awan Advocate submitted the ECP notifications are based on dishonesty.

The IHC issued notices to attorney general for assistance and adjourned the hearing till May 15.
