Over 3000 Sikh yatrees to arrive in Pakistan from India to celebrate Besakhi festival

LAHORE – As many as 3,000 Sikh yatrees will arrive in Pakistan through aspecial train from India on April 12 to celebrate Besakhi festival here.

Official sources said that the main ceremony – Bhog Akhand Paath Sahib –will be held at Punja Sahib Hassanabad on April 14 and the Sikh yatreeswould perform their rituals. Sikh yatrees from all over the world and highofficials of Pakistan would also participate in the ceremony.

During the 10-day stay in Pakistan, the yatrees would visit their religiousplaces including Janum Asthan Guru Nanak Sahib, Rohri Sahib Aimanabad,Gurdwara Kartarpur in Narowal, Sucha Sauda and Dera Sahib Lahore andperform their rituals.

The government would provide all facilities including foolproof security,accommodation, transport and medical to the yatrees.
