ISLAMABAD – The Missing Person Commission has disposed of 3,734 cases up toMarch 31, from 5,915 total cases, monthly progress report of cases ofalleged enforced disappearances, released by Farid Ahmed Khan, Secretary ofthe Commission Thursday said.
A total number of 5,853 cases were received to Missing Person Commission,up to February. During March, 62 more cases received by Missing PersonCommission and the total numbers of cases reached to 5915, a press releasesaid.
It is important to note here that the Commission of Inquiry on EnforcedDisappearances, disposed of 75 cases by March 28, and now balance is 2,181up to March.
The Missing Person Commission has conducted 706 hearings, 272 hearings inIslamabad, 147 in Peshawar, 202 in Karachi and 85 hearings in Lahore duringMarch 2019.
The efforts of Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman of Missing Person Commissionand other members have been appreciated by the relatives and families ofmissing persons as Missing Person Commission, has disposed of 3734 casesup to March 31.
Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman of Missing Person Commission and othermembers have not only given personal hearing to each family of missingperson but also tried their utmost for earliest recovery of missing persons.
