SRINAGAR – In occupied Kashmir, two Indian Air Force (IAF) officersincluding a squadron leader were killed while two others injured in a roadaccident in Pulwama district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the IAF officers of operational basewere killed when the vehicle they were traveling in met an accident atMalangpora outside air force station in Awantipora area of the district.
The incident took place four days after IAF’s MiG-27 fighter jet, which wason a routine mission from Jodhpur, crashed in a village in Sirohi,Rajasthan..Reportedly, the pilot ejected safely.
Officials cited “engine problems” as the reason for the crash of the”MiG-27 UPG aircraft which got airborne from Utarlai Air Force base.
This was the second Indian jet to crash this month; earlier on March 8, theIAF lost a MiG-21 after it crashed while on routine patrol in Rajasthanbecause of a “bird hit after take off”.
