NAB files reference against Deputy Commissioner

KARACHI – An Accountability Court Karachi admitted a reference filed by theNational Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi against land grabber JavedIqbal, his accomplices, Qazi Jan Muhammadand others on the charges of embezzlement of Government land measuring 29acres Sector 31 & 32 of Scheme 33 Karachi.The corruption reference was admitted under number 1 of 2019 bythe court in which it was charged that 29 acres of government land wasgrabbed by the accused persons by insertion of fake and fraudulententries in revenue record which was masterminded by accused JavedIqbal in connivance with revenue officials, said a press release on Monday.Accused launched illegal housing project named Al Raheem Villasin the said land which was further fraudulently sold to general publicby Javed Iqbal, Amir Ali and Irshad Khaskheli.Accused Qazi Jan Muhammad the then Deputy Commissioner MalirDistrict fraudulently issued `Sanad’ of fake village named AbdullahShah Ghazi Goth Block F-II, for the same land thus facilitating theland grabbers.Such `Sanads’ were issued to general public to give legal coverto the illegal project raised on the said.Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth Block F-II and Al Raheem Raza City werealready declared illegal from Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA)thus intimating the general public and concerned Government departmentsto exercise caution in investments by general public after dueverification.Accused Qazi Jan Muhammad, Iqbal Awan the then Mukhtiarkar,Ibrahim, Abdul Latif Brohi the then Mukhtiarkar and Iftikhar ud Dinwere arrested and currently under judicial remand whereas accusedJaved Iqbal has been arrested in a separate case.
