ISLAMABAD – Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Nationalsecurity is intimately linked to economy while prosperity is function ofbalance in security needs and economic growth.
Addressing the concluding session of seminar on ‘Interplay of economy andsecurity’ hosted by him in Rawalpindi on Thursday, he said the aim ofvarious discussions and seminars is to bring stake holders at one platformto formulate recommendations for a synergistic way forward.
He apprised the business community about improved internal securityenvironment of the country which has enabled space for increased economicactivity. He said accessibility and responsiveness of the governmenteconomic team to business community and displayed understanding betweenpublic and private institutions are good signs for intended positivetrajectory in economic activity.
The Government Economic Team, on the occasion, apprised business communityabout initiatives introduced by the government to facilitate businesses andthe encouraging results of stabilization efforts on national economy.

The business community shared suggestions with the government team tofurther improve environment for ease of doing businesses and assured thegovernment that they will cooperate in implementation of governmentreforms. They said they will also play their part by paying taxes andinvesting in a socially and economically responsible manner.
The Army Chief, at the end, thanked all participants for purposefulutilization of the joint forum by stake holders for discussion and seminarsleading to formulation of policy recommendations for subsequent processesand implementation.
