Pakistan FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi writes letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres

*ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that he hadyesterday written a letter to UN Secretary General**Antonio Guterres,expressing concern over increasing Indian ceasefire violations.*

Talking to 92 News on Saturday, he said that India had started the use ofcluster bomb on the civilian population, which is blatant violation of theinternational laws.

He said that the world should take notice of Indian provocation. “This isagainst peace in the region. Pakistan is a responsible state and wantspeace,” he said.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi urged the United States and worldpowers to persuade India to start mediation talks on the Kashmir dispute.

“Contrary to the past, the United States and India presently have very goodrelationship and if Washington wants, it can use its influence over NewDelhi for resolution of the Kashmir dispute.”

The minister said that resolution of the Kashmir issue is must for peaceand stability in the region. “Kashmir issue has become a flashpoint due tothe Indian attitude.”

To a question about the Afghan peace process, Shah Mahmood Qureshi saidthat Pakistan had convinced the United States to start negotiation with theAfghan Taliban as the Afghan issue has no military solution.

About Prime Minister Imran Khan’s meeting with Afghan Taliban, the foreignminister said that a time frame about it could not be given at the moment,but the meeting would be held soon. He said efforts are being made topersuade the Afghan Taliban to join the Afghan peace talks.
