ISLAMABAD – Hydel Power generation in Pakistan hits one of the highestlevel of history.

In a first, electricity generation from hydel power stations in Pakistanhas crossed the 8,000-megawatt (MW) mark.

The accomplishment was achieved by the Water and Power DevelopmentAuthority (WAPDA) on Wednesday when its hydel stations reached theirmaximum capacity for power generation.

As per details released by the company, the power producer added a total of8,158 MW of electricity to the national grid during peak hours of July 31.——————————

According to the report, the maximum power production from Tarbela HydelPower Station, Tarbela 4th Extension Hydropower Project, and Neelum-JhelumHydropower Project contributed an additional 600 MW over their previousbest.
