*ISLAMABAD:* Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Shabbar Zaidi said on Sundaythat the board will send notices to around 100,000 non-filers who own ahouse bigger than 500 yards or a vehicle above the engine capacity of1,000CC.
The FBR chairman was speaking to media in Islamabad, where he said thenon-filers will be brought under the tax net and informed that the date forfiling taxes has been extended up to two months so that maximum people canfile taxes.
Earlier on Thursday, the FBR refuted speculation pertaining to theimposition of a heavy withholding tax on motorcycles and rickshaws.
A day prior, rumors had surfaced that the FBR had implemented a withholdingtax on the registration of motorcycles and rickshaws, hiking up the cost ofbike registration by Rs3,400 to Rs20,900.
In an explanatory statement, the FBR clarified that no withholding taxwould be implemented on either motorcycles or rickshaws.
