Imran Khan finalises names for CMs, Federal Cabinet: Sources

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Fridaycompleted consultation on the names for the slots of provinces chiefministers and federal ministers.

Sources told Dunya News that the PTI chairman is expected to announce thenames till tomorrow afternoon after taking final decision.

Imran Khan has also summoned Dr Babar Awan in this regard with whom is willhave consultation pertaining to legal and constitutional matters.

According to party sources, Asad Umer will likely be pick as the Financeminister and Shah Mehmood Qureshi is the strong candidate for post ForeignMinister’s slot.

Shireen Mazari is also interested for the post however possibilities existof her being made the Defence Minister.

Shafqat Mehmood is a contender for interior minister while the slot ofspeaker will be given to Sindh or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Dr Arif Alvi is a top choice for speaker National Assembly while MalikAmeen Aslam will be the minister or advisor for environment.

Fawad Chaudhry will possibly become the Information Minister whereas theparty is considering giving Ministry of Railways to Awami Muslim LeagueChairperson Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.

Earlier, former cricket star Imran Khan s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) had won majority in the country s general elections and is ready toform the central government.

The PTI had taken the decisive lead by winning 116 seats against formerPrime Minister Nawaz Sharif s Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) andformer President Asif Zardari s Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) which won 64and 43 seats, respectively.

Besides these three major parties, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal Pakistan won 13seats, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan six seats, Pakistan Muslim Leagueand Balochistan Awami Party four seats each, Balochistan National Party andGrand Democratic Alliance two seats each, Awami Muslim League Pakistan,Awami National Party, Jamhoori Wattan Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaniatone seat each.
