In an attempt to curb the spread of fake news, the Federal InvestigationAgency (FIA) has launched a crackdown on social media users propagatingfalse information.
According to FIA officials, the action will be taken against people usingfake accounts to spread false information. They said complaints were alsoreceived regarding hacking of accounts of government officials.
The freedom of expression will not be targeted, but no one will be allowedto blackmail anyone under this pretext, the official added.
