COAS General Bajwa responds over martyrdom of Moulana Sami ul Huq

ISLAMABAD – JUI-S Chief Maulana Sami-ul-Haq has been assassinated inRawalpindi tonight.

This was confirmed by Maulana Sami-ul-Haq’s son Maulana Hamid-ul Haq, whiletalking to a private channel on phone.

Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq said that his father was attacked at his residence bysome unknown assailants, who stabbed him.

Maulana Sami-ul-Haq was admitted to Safari Hospital in Rawalpindi, where hesuccumbed to his injuries.

The funeral prayers of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq will be offered at Darul UloomHaqqania Akora Khattak at 2 pm tomorrow.

Maulana Anwar ul Haq, brother of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq has appealed thestudents to remain calm.

He said protest will be held but no roads will be blocked.

President Dr. Arif Alvi has expressed sorrow and grief over the martyrdomof Maulana Sami-ul-Haq.

Condemning this tragic incident, he expressed sympathy with the bereavedfamily.

The President paid tributes to Maulana Sami-ul-Haq’s religious, social andpolitical services.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly condemned the martyrdom of MaulanaSami-ul-Haq.

In a statement from Beijing, where he is currently on visit to China, thePrime Minister directed to investigate the incident and bring theperpetrators to justice.

The Prime Minister said Maulana Sami-ul-Haq was a great scholar of Islam.

Chief of Army Staff has strongly condemned the assassination of renownedreligious scholar and political leader Moulana Sami ul Haq. He expressedgrief and condolences to the bereaved family.
