BARCELONA,(APP/AFP) – More than 800 people required medical attention on Sunday after riot police cracked down on a banned independence referendum, regional authorities said.
In a tweet, it said 844 people “required medical attention,” though it was unclear how many of those were subsequently discharged and how many were actually injured.
A spokeswoman for the Catalan government had earlier said at least 92 people were hurt.
