ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi chaired the farewellmeeting of the federal cabinet at the PM’s office on Thursday during whichthe Supreme Court s instructions in Asghar Khan case were reviewed.
On the instructions of Supreme Court of Pakistan, the federal cabinetdirected the investigation and prosecution agencies to act according to lawin Asghar Khan case.
The cabinet also ratified the decisions taken by the Cabinet Committee onPrivatization in its meeting held on May 25, 2018, Economic CoordinationCommittee on May 30 and 31, 2018 and Cabinet Committee for Disposal ofLegislative Cases on May 29 and 30, 2018.
The federal cabinet accorded approval to sign agreements of ShanghaiCooperation Organization during the Heads of State Meeting at Qingdao Chinato be held on June 9 and 10, 2018.
It also approved the appointments of Chairman (BS-21) in Drug CourtBalochistan, Quetta and of Member (Engineering) in Capital DevelopmentAuthority, Islamabad.
It gave go ahead for the placement of University of Islamabad Bill, 2017before Parliament and appointment of auditors for Financial Year ending onJune 30, 2018 in Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
The meeting nodded to the establishment of Public Private PartnershipAuthority besides the amendment in Rules of Business, 1973 in Pursuance ofCabinet Decision in Case No. 249/17/2018 dated April 25, 2018.
The body, while discussing the paucity of water for the Kharif seasoncrops, approved a proposal for provision of power to the farmers operatingtube-wells at a flat rate for next three months.
The cabinet nominated Sher Afgan Khan, Additional Secretary as Director onBoard of Directors of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited.
Reforms package for the purpose of transforming Kashmir Council into anadvisory body, as decided by the National Security Committee, was alsopresented before the Cabinet. The Cabinet accorded approval for tabling ofthe reforms before the AJK Legislative Assembly.
