WhatsApp to launch new features for users

LONDON – WhatsApp users should get ready for some good news in the monthsto come as Facebook said it will bring group calling to the popular mobilemessaging platform.

Delivering the keynote address on the inaugural day of the two-day F8developers’ conference in San Jose on Tuesday, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerbergpromised new services that bring people together in meaningful new waysacross Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and Oculus.

“Voice and video calling are very popular on WhatsApp, and we’re excited toshare that group calling will be coming in the months ahead. Stickers arealso coming to WhatsApp soon,” Facebook wrote in a blog.

Zuckerberg made several announcements during the event and among thebiggest announcements made on the first day of the conference wasFacebook’s plans to build a “Clear History” privacy tool which will enableusers to see the websites and apps that send information to Facebook whenthey use them.

The tool, Facebook said, will also enable the users to delete thisinformation from their account, and turn off Facebook’s ability to store it.
