Gevora Hotel: World s tallest Hotel inaugurated

DUBAI – The world’s Tallest hotel opened in the UAE on 12 February 2018,targeting families and travellers looking to avoid Dubai’s energeticnightlife.The gold-coloured, 75-storey Gevora Hotel measures 356.33 m (1,169 ft) tallfrom ground level to the top, with 528 hotel rooms that go up to the 71stfloor.

The tower took four years to build and was originally planned as aresidential building but was recently converted into a hotel instead.It includes four restaurants, an open-air pool deck, a luxury spa on the71st floor, plus a health club and Jacuzzi.

Gevora Hotel aims to attract families and tourists looking for a relaxingstay in Downtown Dubai, with the hotel s General Manager Jairaj Gorsiadescribing it as a “home-grown Emirati hotel”.

“Our guests are looking for a good bed, a good cup of coffee andconvenience. The hotel is in the centre of Dubai and we offer high qualityservice, in contrast to many of its neighbouring five-star hotels,” said MrGorsia.

“We are going into the market at a rate slightly lower than the averagearound this area. The room rates that we will offer is considered verycompetitive,” he added.

Prior to this, the tallest hotel in the world was the J W Marriott MarquisDubai (formerly known as Emirates Park Towers Hotel & Spa). Standing at355.35 m (1,165.84 ft) from ground level to the top of its mast, it saround a metre shorter than the new record holder.
