FAISALABAD:The police claimed to have arrested a kidnapper and recovered collegian girl who was abducted for ransom on February 26.
City Police Officer (CPO) Athar Ismail while addressing a press conference at Police Lines Complex here Thursday evening said that Amina Samreen, a student at Aziz Fatima Medical College, resident of Eden Valley Canal Road Faisalabad, was abducted from Allied Hospital on February 26. In this regard, a case was registered with Civil Lines police station on the report of abductee girl’s father, Mirza Abid.
Taking notice of the incident, a special police team comprising of SP Lyallpur Town Ahmed Mohyuddin, DSP Civil Lines Imran Kalro and SHO Civil Lines Shahid Alvi was constituted.
The team worked on scientific lines and traced out the accused namely Talha Ijaz son of Malik Ijaz Nazir, resident of House No. 412, Umar Block Iqbal Town Lahore. The accused was a facebook friend of the girl.
The CPO said that the accused has also received Rs275,000 as ransom from Mirza Abid, father of the girl through easy-paisa.
The police arrested the accused and recovered the girl and cash.APP/AFP
