Efforts afoot to facilitate foreign investment in country: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan says all-out efforts are being made to facilitate foreign investment in the country.

Talking to Chairman of a Malaysian business group EDOTCO in Islamabad today (Friday), he apprised the group of the measures taken in Pakistan regarding ease of doing business.

The Chairman of the Malaysian Group expressed interest for partnership in ‘Digital Pakistan Program’.

He said the Group is desirous of investment in Pakistan worth 2.5 million dollars.

The group is already making investment in Pakistan worth over one hundred million dollars.

Besides Chairman Board of Investment Pakistan, Malaysia`s High Commissioner in Pakistan Akraan Muhamad Ibrahim, , Dr Naek Ramla, Saresh Naraen Singh Sadhu and Arif Husain were also present in the meeting.

Malaysian delegation led by Chairman of the Edotco Group Datuk Azzat Kamaludin also called on Finance Minister Asad Umar in Islamabad today.

Datuk Azzat Kamaludin on the occasion said that Edotco Group shared the present Government’s vision of digital Pakistan and would like to contribute to this end.

The delegation also shared with the Minister detail of their interaction with PTA for telecom cooperation.

Finance Minister said investment was among priority areas of the present government and assured the delegation of his full support for Edotco as well as other Malaysian companies’ investment plans.

Later, Chairman of Board of China Machinery Engineering Corporation Zhang Chun and Head of Huan D. R Group Huang Daoyuan called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today.

Chairman of Board of China Machinery Engineering Corporation Zhang Chun briefed the Prime Minister about various projects that his company has undertaken in Pakistan in past, most notably in the energy sector.

He also informed the Prime Minister about the progress of 1263 MW power plant in Jhang which was near completion.

Zhang Chun and Huang Daoyuan expressed keen interest in making further investments in the country in Naya Pakistan Housing Program and in the agriculture sector.
