BEIJING – China has emphatically defended Pakistan’s record of combatingterrorism in the wake of President Trump’s tirade, stressing that theinternational community should fully recognise this.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang, during a regular briefingin Beijing today defending Pakistan’s contributions in counter-terrorismsaid we have said many times that Pakistan has put forth great effort andmade great sacrifices in combating terrorism.
Chinese spokesperson said Pakistan has made a prominent contribution toglobal anti-terror efforts and international community should fullyrecognise this.
He said China and Pakistan maintain an all-weather strategic partnership.The Chinese spokesperson said Beijing is willing to further deepen itscooperation with Pakistan in all fields and further benefit the two peoples.
On the other hand, Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing says Beijing acknowledgesPakistan’s matchless sacrifices in the war against terror and stands firmlywith Islamabad in all situations.
These views were expressed by China’s newly appointed Ambassador during ameeting with National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua in Islamabad onTuesday.
The Chinese Ambassador reiterated China’s strong commitment to the securityand stability of Pakistan.
Besides other issues, President Trump’s latest tweet on Pakistan also cameunder discussion.
The two sides stressed the need for political reconciliation in Afghanistanand an early closure of the Afghan conflict.
