KABUL – An explosion has been reported in Kabul city earlier today, thesecurity officials said, Khaama Press has reported.
The incident took place in Bagh-e-Daud area located in the vicinity of the5th police district of the city after explosives planted in a policevehicle went off.
An official in the ministry of interior confirmed that the blast wastriggered by a magnetic mine and as a result three policemen have beenwounded.
No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility behind theincident.
This comes as dozens of people were killed or wounded in a coordiantedsuicide attack in Kabul city last week.
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group loyalists inAfghanistan claimed responsibility for the attack on a cultural center andnews agency in Kabul.
The Ministry of Interior says a group of insurgents launched the attack onThursday mornign leaving at least 41 dead and nearly 90 others wounded.
Thursday’s attack was one of the deadliest attacks carried out in Kabulcity since the group has unleashed a series of deadly raids mainly oncivilian targets in the country.
