ISLAMABAD – The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) haslaunched an initiative for increasing the investors confidence.
SECP in collaboration with the International Organization of SecuritiesCommissions (IOSCO) has launched its annual World Investor Week (WIW) whichwill continue till October 7.
Being an IOSCO member, the SECP participated in WIW 2017 by carrying outactivities with professional bodies, entrepreneurs, corporate bodies andstudents. Once again, the SECP is geared to conduct investor awarenesssessions for audiences ranging from the youth to professionals from variouswalks of life in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Gilgit, Skardu andKhuzdar.
A key objective of the WIW is to highlight the importance of investoreducation and protection, and to foster learning opportunities forinvestors, given today´s rapidly changing environment of online andtechnological innovations. The SECP will leverage the events to organizefurther investor education activities throughout the year.
