ISLAMABAD – A soldier was martyred on Saturday when a Pakistan Army vehiclewas attacked in the Boya area of North Waziristan district, said astatement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The vehicle came under direct fire and was also targetted by an improvisedexplosive device (IED) while conducting a routine security patrol in thearea.
As a result of the attack, Sepoy Amil Shah embraced martyrdom.
“Terrorist activities in North Waziristan have increased lately. During thelast one month, five soldiers have been martyred and 31 injured due toterrorist actions,” added ISPR.
The military’s media wing further said that the arrest of facilitatorslinked to these terrorist activities led to the Kharqamar post incident on25 May.
