ISLAMABAD – The power shortfall in the country has reached 1200 megawattfollowing tripping of high transmission lines of the state-owned NationalTransmission and Despatch Company (NTDC).
A spokesman of the Power Division said that the power plants affected bythe tripping include plants one to four of the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant.
He said that the work was underway to restore the power plants.
“Chashma’s plants one and two could be operational by evening today whereasthe other two will take time,” the spokesman said.
Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, StateMinister, Secretary Power Division and PEPCO officials were monitoring thesituation.
