NEW DELHI: Armies of India and China on Tuesday held a Border PersonnelMeeting during which both sides resolved to maintain peace and tranquillityalong the Line of Actual Control, besides agreeing to work on additionalconfidence building measures.
It was the first such meeting after Prime Minister Narendra Modi andChinese President Xi Jinping held an informal summitlink>last week in thecentral Chinese city of Wuhan during which they agreed to strengthenstrategic communication between the two sides on security-related issues.
The BPM took place in Chusul link>,Ladakh.
It was a ceremonial BPM and issues related to border management werediscussed during the meeting, government sources said.
They said the deliberations focused on bringing down tension along thedisputed borders and ways to bridge the trust deficit.
