Complete shutdown will be observed in occupied Kashmir tomorrow against the proposed visit of Indian Prime Minister.
Call for the shutdown has been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
In a statement in Srinagar, the joint resistance leadership said Narendra Modi’s visit to the held territory is scheduled at a time when massacres, detentions and blinding of people continues without any let up.
It said thousands of Kashmiri leaders and activists are languishing in jails and the authorities are denying any space for peaceful political activities.
Meanwhile, complete shutdown is being observed in Chadoora and its adjoining areas in Badgam district on the 4th consecutive day, today, against killing of three civilians by Indian forces.
According to Kashmir Media Service, three civilians named Zahid Rasheed, Aamir Fayaz and Ashfaq Ahmad were killed after Indian forces’ personnel resorted to indiscriminate firing on peaceful protesters in Chadoora on Tuesday.
All shops and business establishments are closed in Chadoora, Wathora and Nagam areas while transport is off the roads.
