*Helsinki – Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in a veiledreference has called Pakistan a national security threat to India.*
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday said India’s decision torevoke Jammu and Kashmir’s special status has a “national securityconnotation” as he emphasised that the “epicentre of global terrorism” isright there in the country’s “neighbourhood”, NDTV has reported.
Delivering a speech on ‘India and the World – Priorities of Indian ForeignPolicy’ at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA), MrJaishankar, in an apparent reference to Pakistan, said, “India lives in atough neighbourhood and faces more than its fair share of national securitychallenges. Most prominent among them is the cross-border terrorism that wehave been subjected to for many decades.”
He said cross-border terrorism has cost more than 40,000 lives in the lastthree decades.
Mr Jaishankar said India is opposed to terrorism in all its forms andmanifestations and believe there is no justification for it, whatsoever.
