US Military Industry all powerful in America and across the World

ISLAMABAD – The military–industrial complex in the United States has vastinfluence over the country’s economy and government policy, says anAmerican political analyst.

“The armaments industry is such an important part of the American economyand such a powerful force within the American political system; in manyways it is the American political system,” said Keith Preston, chief editorof AttacktheSystem.com.

“It’s been said that the United States doesn’t just have amilitary–industrial complex; it is a military–industrial complex,” Prestontold Press TV on Tuesday.

“And that’s extended internationally through the fact that the UnitedStates has hundreds of military bases spread out all over the world, they’ve got nuclear weapons deployed in different places,” he added.

“The armaments industry guides American policy.”

Russia says it is closely watching the United States’ work on developingnew weapon systems, months after Washington abandoned an arms controltreaty with Moscow.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that Russian authorities“are actually keeping a close watch on Washington’s actions with regard tothe development of new weapon systems.”

Back in early August, US President Donald Trump officially withdrew hiscountry from the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, which hadbeen concluded in 1987 by then-US president Ronald Reagan and Soviet leaderMikhail Gorbachev.

The INF had banned all land-based missiles with ranges of between 500 and5,500 kilometers and covered missiles carrying both nuclear andconventional warheads, Press TV has reported.
