Yet another good news for Pakistan on the exports front

ISLAMABAD – Yet another good news for Pakistan on the exports front.

The exports of the textiles, manufactured leather goods and cutleryregister increase in FY 2019 – 20. The exports of manufactured leathergoods from Pakistan grew by 10.41% during the first quarter of the currentfinancial year as compared to exports of the corresponding period last year.

The exports from July-September 2019 rose to $131.4 million as compared tothe exports of $119 million in the same period last year.

According to the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, theexport of leather garments increased by 11.48%.

322 TH.DOZ of leather garments valued at $75 million were exported ascompared to the 234 TH.DOZ worth $67.3 million in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, 1,438 TH.DOZ of leather gloves worth $53.7 million were alsoexported in the first quarter of the current financial year as compared tothe exports of 1,287 TH.DOZ valued at $49.1 million in the same period lastyear.

During the period under review, other leather goods exports of the countryalso recorded a positive growth of 5.20%. Other goods worth $2.6 millionwere exported as compared to the exports of $2.5 million in the same periodlast year.Textile Exports

Textile exports from the country grew by 2.95% during the first quarter ofthe current financial year (1QFY20) as compared to the exports of thecorresponding period last year.

Textile products worth $3,371 million were exported during theJuly-September period, as compared to $3,275 million worth of exportsexported in the same period last year.Cutlery exports

The export of cutlery witnessed an increase of 18.66% during the firstquarter of the current financial year (1QFY20) as compared to thecorresponding period last year.

Pakistan exported cutlery worth $23.8 million during July-September2019-20, as against the exports of $20.1 million during July-September2018-19, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
