Pakistan launches a new joint initiative at the Iran borders

TEHRAN, Nov. 30 (MNA) – Observer of Pakistan’s Balochistan province RezaBaloch said that the government of Pakistan has decided to launch fourborder marketplaces in a border shared with Iran for doing trade andbusiness transactions as well as improving livelihood of frontiersmen.

He made the remarks in Zahedan on Sat. after signing and sealing a jointMemorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Iran and Pakistan and added, “inthis two-day meeting, all issues on the border trade between the twocountries was reviewed, based on which, a 22-paragraph Memorandum ofUnderstanding (MoU) was inked between officials of the two countries.”

He further noted that the Pakistani government will launch four bordermarketplaces within the next year in 2020 for easing trade transactionsbetween the two countries.

The 7th Iran-Pakistan Border Trade Committee was held last week for aperiod of two days within the framework of transit and transport, customsand banking, railway, fisheries and agriculture in the presence ofrepresentatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Interior Ministry,Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) andPakistani merchants.

It should be noted that Sistan and Baluchestan province is considered asone of the safest access ways of regional countries especially Afghanistanand Pakistan to the Middle East and European and African countries.
