LAHORE – Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday resolved that the governmentwould never succumb to any pressure rather would face challenges despiteall negative propaganda being created by a mafia.
“I want to clarify that we will never succumb to the pressure. We havealways faced the challenges and will continue doing so,” the prime ministerresolved in a meeting with the members of the national assembly from Punjabduring his day long visit here.
He told the parliamentarians that a mafia, that had been detracting thepeople since decades to fulfill their nefarious designs, was now creating anegative impression against the government.
They intentionally try to create a chaotic situation just to undermine thepositive changes being brought about by the government.
He said the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the problems being facedby the people of their respective constituencies, difficulties in executionof development projects and their early resolution.
The prime minister said no part of the country would be discriminatedregarding the development work.
He advised the parliamentarians to keep in contact with the people in theirconstituencies and always strive to resolve their issues.
The members of national assembly also apprised the prime minister about thesocial and development issues confronting the people in their areas.
The prime minister directed the provincial government to devise a mechanismfor effective coordination between the administration and theparliamentarians.
He told the meeting that the elimination of corruption was the keycomponent of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s manifesto and for the firsttime in Punjab’s history, notorious criminals and land mafia gangs had beentaken to task.
He said the government had inherited a country with record deficit,constantly devaluing currency and huge debt burden but now the situationhad changed with rupee gaining strength.
He told the parliamentarians that the world was looking at Pakistan as anattractive destination for investment. The country had also get anunprecedented acknowledgment in Davos where the representatives of giantfirms believed that Pakistan offered immense opportunities and potentialfor investment.
