Pakistan Shot Down 6 Indian Rafales and Struck 109 Targets Inside India: International Media Report

ISLAMABAD: A congressional commission of the United States has formallyrecognised that Pakistan inflicted a clear military defeat on India duringthe intense four-day conflict that erupted in May 2025, marking one of themost significant confrontations in recent South Asian history.

The US-China Economic and Security Review Commission, in its latest annualreport to Congress, explicitly stated that Pakistan emerged victorious inthe brief but fierce war, largely due to superior strategy and extensiveuse of advanced Chinese military technology.

The report highlighted that Indian Rafale fighter jets proved ineffectiveagainst Pakistan’s integrated air defence network bolstered by Chinesesystems, contradicting New Delhi’s earlier claims of operational success.

According to the commission’s findings, Pakistan shot down at least sixIndian combat aircraft in the opening phase, including several Rafales, causing substantial losses that Indian authorities have been reluctant toacknowledge publicly.

Senior Indian military officers, speaking off the record, reportedlyadmitted heavy damage to the air force, while official statements continuedto downplay the extent of casualties and material losses.

Pakistan, leveraging Chinese intelligence support and precision weaponry, successfully struck 109 Indian military targets and created breaches indefensive lines that remain concealed by New Delhi even months after theceasefire.

The congressional document emphasised China’s pivotal role in Pakistan’striumph, noting that Chinese-origin electronic warfare and missiletechnology neutralised India’s French-supplied Rafales and enabled deepstrikes into Indian territory.

Analysts view the unusually candid US assessment as a strategic signal toboth New Delhi and Beijing amid escalating great-power competition in theIndo-Pacific region.
