KABUL: Pakistan has offered to host one-on-one talks between Taliban and Afghan government for restoration of peace in Afghanistan.
The first round of direct talks between Taliban and Afghan government is expected to be held in the first week of March.
Pakistan made the offer during the 4th QCG meeting which was held in Kabul.
Pakistan, China, Afghanistan and US participated in the meeting. The QCG is struggling for peace in region which is facing conflict since 2001.
Taliban have captured a wide area of Helmand province recently and targeting local policemen in attacks.
Taliban have boosted their campaign against Afghan government since 2014 when US announced to withdraw its forces from Afghanistan.
The Afghan government was not agreeing to negotiate with Taliban in the start but it realized the necessity to end the rising violence in the country.
Pakistan started talks with Taliban for peace in the region which is working and now it is expected that the growing violence in the region will come to an end soon in case Taliban and Afghan Government reach a peace accord.
