Government and Opposition deadlock over TORs for Panama Leaks investigations

ISLAMABAD, May 27 (APP): Government and Opposition deadlock over TORs for Panama Leaks investigations

The Opposition parties on Friday said that there would be no flexibility on 15-points they jointly framed and submitted before the Parliamentary Committee finalizing Terms of Reference (ToRs) for the proposed inquiry commission on the Panama Papers.

Talking to reporters outside the Parliament House after attending the committee meeting, Leader of Opposition in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan said there was no rift in the joint opposition and “We are united on the ToRs.”

He demanded that 15 questions of the opposition parties should be included in the ToRs, terming them ‘fundamental’ for the inquiry.

Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the opposition parties would not budge even a single inch from its stance.

He said opposition wanted to hold discussion on the ToRs in ‘totality’ and not ‘piece meal.’
