Ten thousand megawatts of additional electricity will be generated and added into the national grid before the end of this year.
This was informed by Secretary Water and Power Younas Dagha during a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Saturday.
Secretary Water and Power said that the Ministry has been working hard to cater the increasing energy demand of the country.
He said that the progress on the under construction LNG power plants is being closely monitored by the ministry.
Minister for Water and Power Khwaja Muhammad Asif on the occasion said that it has also been on our agenda to improve our distribution network.
He said generation and distribution circle are being improved to provide better service to the consumers.
The Finance Minister appreciated the serious efforts of the Ministry of Water and Power to find effective solution to energy shortage problem of the country.
He said the government wants not only to improve the energy supplies for the current period but also find solutions for the future.
