ISLAMABAD: Another controversy has been stirred by non other than the spokesman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Naeem ul Huq by involving ex Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani for rigging the General Elections 2018.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) disowned the statement regarding former Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani the party spokesperson Naeem ul Haque made last night during a current affairs program at a local private news channel.
It should be mentioned here that Haq said former army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani (retd) had ‘engineered 2013 polls in favour of PML-N’.
However, Naeem ul Haq clarified in a micro-blogging website that this was his own opinion and does not reflect his party’s point of view.
Saying that the party Chairman Imran Khan directed him to clarify his position over his fresh statement, he tweeted that his comments about General Kayani were his own and do not reflect the party stance in any way.
Citing a writing published on April 1, PTI Information Secretary Naeemul Haq claimed, “The PTI was near winning at least 60% seats countrywide, but, General Kayani, Saudia Arabia and the USA engineered the elections in Nawaz Sharif’s favor.”
Quoting the published article, he claimed the PTI mandate was stolen due to massive rigging in the last general elections.
