TEHRAN – At least 44 Palestinians were injured in clashes with the Israeliarmy Friday in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian RedCross.
The incident occurred in the West Bank city of Jericho when Israeli forcesused rubber bullets and teargas to disperse dozens of Palestiniansprotesting the US decision on Jerusalem, Anadolu Agency reported.
The Palestinian territories have remained tense since last December, whenUS President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, drawingcondemnation from across the Arab and Muslim world.
According to reports, 22 Palestinians were also killed in the Gaza Stripand the West Bank and more than 800 Palestinians were detained by theIsraeli forces since Washington’s move to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds asthe capital of Israel.
Also, thousands of Palestinians have been wounded by Israeli army’s fireduring demonstrations against the US President decision to recognizeJerusalem as the capital of Israel.
