KABUL – At least 25 Taliban insurgents were killed in a military operationin central Ghazni province on Sunday, the Provincial Police Office said ina statement on Monday.
In addition, 13 other insurgents were wounded.
The “Nabard-e-Ahanin” operation was launched a week ago in Deh Yak districtof the province to clear the area of insurgents. The operation is stillongoing, it said, adding that “the air force is also supporting the forces.”
A number of weapons were also discovered during the operation, it added.
However, the statement did not provide further details.
The Taliban has not yet commented about the operation.
