US National Security Council delegation arrives in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – A delegation of United States National Security Council hasarrived in Islamabad amid the tense relations between Pakistan and US.

The delegation met with the Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua in Islamabadtoday and discussed the bilateral ties.

It also called on Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal here on Monday anddiscussed various matters of mutual relationships.

The delegation was headed by Senior Director National Security Council andSpecial Assistant to President of United States, Lisa Curtis.

Ambassador of US to Pakistan, David Hail was also present in the meeting,says a statement issued here Monday.

During the meeting, Ahsan Iqbal said harmony in Pak-US relationship wasvital for defeating terrorism in the region.He said backbone of terrorism had been broken in Pakistan while the countrywanted to develop sustainable peace in Afghanistan.

He said Pak-US knowledge corridor would help increasing educationalcapacity of students of Pakistan.

The minister also informed the delegation about measures taken by thegovernment to stop human trafficking.
