Indian Army martyrs 3 Kashmiri freedom fighters in staged encounter

SRINAGAR – Indian troops on Monday martyred three more innocent Kashmirisin Islamabad district.

The youth including a B-tech student Eesa Fazli and Syed Owais were killedby the Indian troops during a siege and search operation in Hakoora area ofsouth district.

After the martyrdom of innocent Kashmiris, the Indian authorities haveimposed curfew and restrictions and ordered the closure of all schools andcolleges in Srinagar.

An official said that restrictions were imposed in parts of DowntownSrinagar and Soura area to prevent people from protesting against thekillings.

Eesa Fazli belonged to Srinagar, while Syed Owais was a resident ofKokernag area of Islamabad district.

The move comes in the wake of martyrdom of Eesa Fazili of Soura in agunfight with forces in Anantnag district in south Kashmir.

The freedom fighters have been fighting Indian rule since 1989, demandingKashmir be made part of Pakistan or become an independent country. Indiaaccuses Pakistan of arming and training the rebels, a charge Pakistandenies.

Most Kashmiris support the freedom fighters’ cause against Indian rulewhile also participating in civilian street protests against Indian control.

Nearly 70,000 people have been killed in the uprising and the ensuingIndian military crackdown.
