BEIJING – A Chinese foreign ministry’s spokesperson Monday said thedevelopment of the all-weather strategic partnership between China andPakistan would remain unchanged regardless of any political change in wakeof general elections in Pakistan.
“The development of the all-weather strategic partnership between China andPakistan would remain unchanged no matter what outcome was after theupcoming general election in Pakistan,” Hua Chunying said responding to aquestion by APP during her regular press briefing.
The spokesperson said, “I believe no matter what outcome is the soundmomentum of development of our all-weather strategic partnership willremain unchanged.”
When asked to comment that an interim government led by Caretaker PrimeMinister Nasir ul Mulk has taken charge and that the new government wouldhold the election on July 25, she said, “We have noted that Pakistan willhold general election at the end of July.”
Hua Chunying sincerely hoped that the Pakistan side could accomplish such amajor political process in a smooth and steady way.
