WASHINGTON – WhatsApp is said to be testing a new shortcut feature called’Mark as Read’, which allows users to mark a chat as read directly from thenotification centre.
Although the feature was spotted on the WhatsApp Android beta version2.18.214, it isn’t available yet on all phones. According to the report inWABetaInfolink, thefeature is expected to undergo improvements before it is enabled foreveryone.
Detailing about the new feature, the report states that when the user willopen a WhatsApp message in the notification centre, they will also get anoption to ‘Mark as Read’.
WhatsApp is also said to be working on another feature that will allow itsusers to mute a chat directly from the notification centre.
Lately, the messaging platform has been introducing many new features likeenabling users to chat without adding contacts to phonebook, admins of agroup allowed to restrict sending messages of other non-admin members andchat filters for its business app in Android, according First Post report.
