LAHORE – *Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Sunday allegedthat former Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif was involved in riggingthe 2013 general elections, SAMAA reported.*
Shehbaz Sharif, meanwhile, dismissed the allegation, saying that Imran Khanshould first look at himself.
Imran Khan was addressing an election rally in Punjab’s Jhang city, withgeneral elections just nine days away.
Khan criticised PML-N leadership for ‘ignoring’ Southern Punjab.
“They have deliberately ignored Southern Punjab as half of the provincialbudget is spent on Lahore,” he said.
“Why is Jang so backward? The reason is that decisions for people of thiscity are taken in Lahore and the kings of Lahore don’t know what’s going onelsewhere,” Khan said.
Khan accused the Shehbaz Sharif administration of getting kickback in themulti-billion-dollar Metro Bus project in Lahore and Multan.
“Metro service was launched to get commission and kickbacks and send themoney abroad.”
“Shehbaz Sharif launched Multan metro bus but the people don’t need it.They want solutions to their problems,” he said, adding that ‘empty busses’plying the routes are a loss to national exchequer.
Urging his supporters to vote PTI to power, Khan said his party willintroduce the best system of governance.
“Vote for the ‘bat’, vote for the ideology. PTI will succeed on July 25. Itwill be the biggest election battle in the country’s history,” Khan said.
