ISLAMABAD – The Director Generals of Military Operations of Pakistan andIndia during a hotline contact have expressed satisfaction over thesituation along Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary since lastcommunication in May this year.
According to ISPR, however, DGMO Pakistan expressed concern over Indianviolations and deliberate targeting of innocent civilians, which hasresulted into four martyrdom and 32 injuries since May 29, especially inbroad daylight on 15th and 16th of this month in Leepa sector.
It was conveyed that such actions are extremely detrimental to peace on theLine of Control.
The DGMO Pakistan also expressed concern over unusual movements of weaponsand forces along LoC and cautioned Indian DGMO against any provocation,which has the potential to vitiate the environment along LoC.
Indian DGMO assured that no such move has taken place. Indian allegation ofinfiltration and abetment of terrorism along the LoC were strongly rejectedand Indian DGMO was informed that effective measures are in place and nosuch presence or movement has been observed by Pakistani forces.
The Pakistan DGMO expressed commitment to peace and indicated that if suchaggressive actions continue same will be effectively responded which willhave detrimental effects on peace and tranquility along the LoC.
